NUMBER 1
the first thing that needs to be understood is that i don't control
the
press. very few civilians do. my only contribution to this article was
an hour and a half long interview with jon bream. he took from that
dialogue what HE chose to keep. and after that, his EDITOR excluded
other information they found impertinent or unimportant to the reader.
a direct quote from jon bream, when i asked him about it, was "if
someone's not well known and we're mentioning him or her only once in
a big story, we usually don't mention the name unless necessary. remember,
this is a general-circulation publication, not a music or industry publication."
so, just having worked with me, or having had something to do with my
development as a person or musician,
or having had a role in assisting me toward a particular opportunity,
was not necessarily enough to get your name into the article and saved
from the cutting room floor. so, if you're mad about it, you're just
gonna have to get over it.. or not. my own family's names don't appear,
either.
number two..
apparently, i was misinformed about chris testa's involvement with the
upcoming dixie chicks album. he, indeed was an engineer, and not an
assistant, and did, indeed, recommend me for the tour.
