| this shot is from the "groove
all stars" yamaha event at the cerritos performing arts center. the concert happened on saturday, the 21st of january, this year.. during namm... what it is, is an excuse for yamaha to show off their endorsees. they reach into their fat pockets, rewnt out a venue, away from anaheim and the rest of the namm show, put together a rhythm section, hire a couple singers and a horn section, and dedicate the night to "playing music.."not playing a bunch of solos.. if you wanna hear all that, just turn any corner inside the anaheim convention center during namm week.. i hate it.. the best thing about being asked to participate in groove all stars was meeting and hanging out with some drummers that really have inspired me throughout the years, such as andy newmark, greg errico, john "jr" robinson, steve gadd, and peter erskine, rick marotta... oh yeah..tommy aldridge.. rocked it!! some other drummers that i've heard of, but didn't really know, or met briefly once upon a time, that really played well were cats like oscar seaton, ian wallace, and keith carlock.. keith was bad, man!!
